What’s on my mind

there are so many things
I could mention

Is being free
worth what you leave behind
is love powerful enough
to change the mind

Who are you on the inside
when all else falls away
yes it’s easy to run
but are you brave enough to stay

When you’re alone
do you like the company you keep
are you willing to fight
for your desires so deep

To be with me
to see inside my heart
respect and honesty
is the best place to start

Even if it hurts
you’ll need to let me inside
I want to experience your happiness
and even tears you’ve cried

Don’t hide the broken parts
that I need to see
you have to love yourself
before you can ever love me

Will you stand with me
in this fire of love
and risk it all
even when it feels like it’s not enough
