Choose the Cross...

Lord, I’m down on my knees today

receive my prayer, hear my cry

A great injustice has been done here

none of us know exactly why

Life has been hard and cruel for them

some cry out to You in pain

They don’t feel they can handle anymore

for them, nothing remains the same

They have been on a lonesome journey

with many questions on their mind

They seek to find the answers

Why me, why them, just why

They’re filled with resentment and anger

painting images on their soul

All of their pain and suffering

have produced a fork in the road

To chase away the clouds

or allow sunshine on their face

With a little courage they must decide

to step out of that dark place

Through anything they can overcome

with just Your strength alone

To change the image in their lives

It’s Your love they must know

You are not moved by their anger

You’re simply moved by their faith

Help restore their confidence in You

Your love will never adhere to hate

I stand before you to witness my prayer

with the hope of reaching your hearts

Not with words of wisdom but of faith

it’s simply a place to start

There is freedom in His arms

and His love will set you free

Raise your hands to heaven

sing praise and rejoice in His majesty

I’ve asked him to hear your tearful prayers

and heal your deepest wounds

Be strong in His love and power

Allow Him to comfort and shelter you

Let Him be your voices

when you don’t have the words to speak

Let Him be your strength

when your hearts are too weak

With Him, there are no good-byes

let Him guide you through your loss

Nothing compares to the promise you have

when you simply choose the cross
